May 18th 1887     Issued an order to arrest the Defendant.  Warrant returned May 18th 1887 and Prisoner brought into Court by C. C. Stanley, Constable.  Prisoner asks for time to procure counsel and in default of Bail stands committed.  Time of trial set for May 21st 1887.

                                       Frerick M Willard complains of the Defendant Andrew Jay and says that on or about the 9th day of May 1887 the Defendant made a criminal and dangerous assault on him in the County of Box Butte and State of Nebraska by drawing a loaded double barrel shot Gun and presenting the same at this witness with both hammers raised and at the same time and place ordered and directed one Cory Hashman to then and there cut and destroy said Willard's Tent that he had erected for a residence and was then living in the same.
     Fredrick M Willard being duly sworn do on oath state that I have heard the above information read and know the contents there of and the same are true as I verily believe.

May 18th 1887     Issued Subpena for Delay Lynde, Hazen Willard, Herb McVey, J. H. Skiinner, Toney Kutchera, Gene Baker Plaintiff's witnesses.
May 21st 1887.  Parties appeared.  Trial had.  The Plaintiff called as witnesses Fredrick M. Williard, Hazen Willard, Herb McVey, J. H. Skinner, Toney Kutchera, Gene Baker, Delay Lynde who were sworn and examined.  Defendant called as witnesses Cory Hashman and Jay Jr.
              The Court after hearing testimony and allegations of the parties this day agreed upon and rendered the following verdict     Not Guilty
