This morning the Hemingford High School Junior WorldStrides tour group got up bright and early to begin a busy day traveling across the Washington area. The first stop was at Civil War abolitionist Frederick Douglas' Cedar Hill. After that they went to the Ford Theater, where President Lincoln was assassinated, and stopped in at a neighboring Hard Rock Cafe. Next the group traveled to the Capital Building, where they were able to enter and view both the House and the Senate in session. Lunch was at the Open Union Station. After lunch WorldStrides went to the U.S. Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. The final stop of the day was at the Pentagon City Mall, which was reached through the use of the city's metro train system. After the mall the group traveled back to the hotel in Maryland.
